Dr. Kelly Pegoretti Baruteau

Dr. Pegoretti Baruteau is a consultant in diagnostic neuroradiology at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN) at Queen Square since May 2017. Since April 2019 she became the lead consultant neuroradiologist for the fetal medicine unit and neonatal care imaging services at University College London Hospital.

Dr. Pegoretti Baruteau studied medicine at the Pontifical Catholic University of Sao Paulo (PUC-SP) in Brazil. Following this, she trained clinical radiology in Rio de Janeiro in various hospitals, including the Sao Vicente de Paulo’s Hospital of Tijuca and the National Institute of Cancer, before training at the department of radiology of Saint Antoine Hospital in Paris, France, where she obtained the interuniversity diploma in imaging in oncology at the Pierre and Marie Curie University. She undertook the neuroradiology sub-specialty fellowship at the department of neuroradiology of Toulouse University Hospital and also obtained the interuniversity diploma of diagnostic and therapeutic neuroradiology in France.

In the UK she worked as consultant neuroradiologist at the Royal London Hospital and as clinical research associate and the department of perinatal imaging and Health, King’s College London, St Thomas’ Hospital, before joining the NHNN.

Dr. Pegoretti Baruteau is a honorary associate professor of UCL in the maternal and fetal medicine department and has research interest in brain development, fetal and neonatal imaging.

She also has research interest in advanced Magnetic Resonance imaging techniques, especially in the support for the diagnosis of vascular, oncology and inflammatory neurological diseases in both paediatric and adult population.
